Volleyball Ties Program Record for Wins in Season with 16th Win

DAYTON, Tenn. — Tennessee Wesleyan kept its momentum rolling with a dominant straight-sets sweep of Bryan College (25–20, 27–25, 25–20) on Tuesday afternoon inside Summers Gym. The Bulldogs improved to 16–6 overall and 8–2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play, continuing their strong midseason form.

Tennessee Wesleyan overcame early deficits in each set with composed, balanced play and clutch performances from its veteran core. Setter Alley Hibdon orchestrated the offense masterfully, recording multiple assists in key scoring stretches, while Amya Sutton and Nyah Hudson powered the attack with timely kills.

In the opening set, TWU rallied from behind midway through to take control, using a 7–0 run capped by Sutton's pair of kills and a Hibdon service ace to pull away 25–20.

Set two proved to be the tightest battle of the match. Down 21–18, the Bulldogs regrouped after a timeout and rattled off four straight points behind kills from Gracelyn Jackson, Hunter Ford, and Hibdon, seizing momentum late. After trading points into extra play, Talynn Wheeler sealed the 27–25 win with a service ace to put TWU up two sets to none.

Tennessee Wesleyan's balance shone again in the final frame. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 7–2 lead thanks to strong serving by Kianna Wickham and relentless net play from Savannah Jones and Hudson. Bryan made a brief push to cut the deficit to 18–14, but the Bulldogs closed on a 7–3 run, punctuated by a Hibdon kill to finish off the 3–0 sweep.
