ATHENS, Tenn. — Tennessee Wesleyan earned a decisive conference victory Saturday morning, sweeping Bluefield (25-22, 26-24, 25-17) at James L. Robb Gymnasium
The Bulldogs (9-5, 1-1 AAC) relied on a balanced attack led by Amya Sutton, who delivered timely kills throughout the match, and Alley Hibdon, who directed the offense while contributing points of her own. Nyah Hudson and Savannah Jones were steady forces at the net, while Talynn Wheeler sparked the defense with key digs and an ace in the opening set.
Tennessee Wesleyan showed poise in the second frame, rallying late to pull out a 26-24 win before cruising through the third behind strong serving from Kianna Wickham and Megan Thompson. The Bulldogs' consistency at the net and aggressive serving closed out the match in straight sets.
