No. 1 Seed Women's Tennis Advance to AAC Championship

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- After a win in the quarterfinals of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament, the women's tennis team was back in action in the semifinals on Friday. The top seed in the tournament swept the No. 4 seeded Milligan University Lady Buffaloes. 

In the 4-0 win, the doubles duos of Mercedes Chasset and Ivet Prat, and Honoka Tsuji and Julia Richardet clinched the doubles point for the Lady Bulldogs. The former won the No. 2 doubles 6-1 while the latter won the No. 3 doubles 6-3.

Chasset, Prat, and Tsuji all won their singles match to give Tennessee Wesleyan the match win. Two sets of 6-0 gave Chasset the win in No. 4 singles while Prat (No. 5) and Tsuji (No. 6) used scores of 6-1, 6-0 to win their singles matches.

The win moves the Lady Bulldogs (13-3) to the championship match on Saturday. The team will face the No. 2 seed, SCAD Atlanta, at 2:00 p.m.
