No. 7 Women's Tennis Wins AAC Regular Title for Third Straight Season
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.- The women's tennis team went on the road for their regular season finale on Tuesday. With their 7-0 win, the seventh-ranked Lady Bulldogs clinched the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Regular Season Title. This is the third straight title for the program.
Mercedes Chasset and Ivet Prat won the No. 1 doubles 6-3 while Julia Richardet and Honoka Tsuji won the No. 2 doubles match 6-2. The No. 3 doubles was won by forfeit.
A 7-6, 6-1 score gave Laia Berne the No. 1 singles win and Chasset won the No. 2 singles 4-6, 7-5, [7]. Prat took the No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-3 while Paula Cigarran won the No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-3. The fifth and sixth singles were credited to TWU via forfeit.
TWU completes the regular season 11-3 overall and with a perfect 9-0 AAC record. The team will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming AAC Tournament on April 10-12. The team will face the No. 8 seed in the tournament. The tournament is being held at Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
