WALESKA, Ga.- The women's soccer team went on the road for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game against the Reinhardt University Lady Eagles on Wednesday.
In the first half, the Lady Bulldogs shot at an efficient pace with seven of eight shots on goal. Unfortunately, none of those seven hit any portion of the back of the net as the attempts by Stina Braun, Julia Starchl, Marta Hernan, Lisa Kirwan, and Iara Tello were saved by the the opposing keeper. Reinhardt was able to put a ball in the net though, taking a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The defense was able to stop a flurry of offense by Reinhardt to begin the second half. Starchl, Jenna Vest, Caitlin Bleeker, Anne Jensen, Hernan, Braun, Rosie Dunkerton, and Addison Smith all took shots in the second half, but the team was not able to find an equalizer, falling for the second time this season.
TWU (6-2, 5-2 AAC) returns to their home pitch for a conference game against the University of Pikeville on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
