Women's Soccer Blanks Columbia in AAC Opener

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The women's soccer team opened Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play with a 3-0 win on Saturday. The team defeated the Columbia College Koalas on the road. 

TWU got on the board eight minutes into the game. Marta Hernan found the back of the net to give the Lady Bulldogs their first lead. In the 27th minute, Tennessee Wesleyan saw their lead grow when Stina Braun scored, making the score 2-0. The team's two-goal advantage remained at the halftime break. 

The final goal of the game came four minutes into the second half. Iara Tello scored the goal in the 49th minute of the game, giving the team the 3-0 lead they won with. 

Ana Martinez finished with four saves in the net.

TWU (2-0, 1-0 AAC) stays on the road for their next game when they face Milligan University on Wednesday. The AAC game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
