Women's Golf Wins Pioneers Fall Invitational; Hassall Wins Third Individual Title

GAFFNEY, S.C.- The women's golf team played at the Pioneers Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. TWU ended the two-round tournament with the team and individual titles.

On the individual side, the Lady Bulldogs had four finishers in the top 20. Maisie Hassall led the entire tournament, shooting rounds of 75 and 83 for a total of 158 to win the individual title. Ashlynn Guy finished in sixth place with a total score of 172 after shooting 86 in both rounds. A score of 180 placed June Greene (88, 92) in 13th place while Cadie Prater (96, 94) was tied for 18th with a score of 190. 

Ashlyn Rawlings used scores of 101 and 96 to finish tied for 23rd with a total of 196 to go along with a 29th place finish by Tynsley Peaden, who shot 111 and 101 for a total of 212.

On the team scoreboard, TWU won the team title by 17 strokes. The team shot 345 in the first round and 355 in the second round for a total score of 700. (334, 330) moved up one spot from their first round position to finish third in the final standings with a total of 664.

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is the AAC Fall Preview on Oct. 20-21. The final tournament of the fall is set to take place at the is set to take place at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga.
