Women's Golf Finishes Third at TWU Fall Classic; Hassall Wins Second Individual Title
ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's golf team was back out on the links on Saturday and Saturday as the hosts of the TWU Fall Classic. The two-round tournament was held at The Links at Kahite.
Like the first tournament the Lady Bulldogs played in, Maisie Hassall came from behind to win the individual title. Hassall used back-to-back scores of 74 to finish with a total of 148 to win the tournament. June Greene finished seven spots higher in the final round compared to the first round, placing 18th on the individual leaderboard with rounds of 87 and 81 to finish with a total score of 168. A score of 172 after rounds 87 and 85 placed Maylie Stout in a tie for 22nd place.
In a tie for 32nd place was Cadie Prater, who carded scores of 87 and 90 for a total score of 177, while Ashlynn Guy was in 34th place after scoring 86 and 95 for a total of 181. Sitting in 41st and 42nd, respectively, were Ashlyn Rawlings (101, 100) and Tynsley Peaden (105, 103).
On the team scoreboard, TWU (334, 330) moved up one spot from their first round position to finish third in the final standings with a total of 664.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is the Pioneers Fall Invitational on Oct. 13-14. The tournament is set to take place at Cherokee National Golf Course in Gaffney, S.C.
