Women's Golf Opens Fall Season at Skyhawk Invitational; Hassall Wins Individual Title

LANETT, Ala.- The women's golf team played their first event of the fall season on Saturday and Sunday. The team played in the Skyhawks Fall Invitational. 

Saturday:

On the Par 72 course, Maisie Hassall had a score of 75 in the first round, placing her in fourth place. Ashlyn Rawlings carded a score of 87 to finish in 34th place, and Ashlynn Guy was 36th after shooting 88.

A score of 92 put Maylie Stout in 43rd place, while Cadie Prater's score of 93 made her 45th. Tynsley Peaden shot 102 in the first round to finish 53rd. 

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs had a score of 342 to be in eighth place on the team leaderboard.

Sunday:

Hassall copied her score of 75 from the first round to finish the tournament with a total of 150, the lowest score in the tournament to give her the individual title for the tournament. Guy maintained the 36th spot on the individual leaderboard after shooting 87 in the second round for a 175 total. Prater's 89 in the second round helped her move up to 41st overall with a total of 182.

Stout (92) and Rawlings (97) finished tied for 43rd with a two-round total of 184. Peaden finished the tournament with a total of 205 after shooting 103 in the second round, placing 51st. 

TWU moved up the team leaderboard one spot to seventh place after shooting a 343 in the second round, giving them a 685 for the tournament.

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is the TWU Fall Classic at The Links at Kahite in Vonore, Tenn., on Sept. 20-21.
