Women's Bowling Finishes in Semifinals of McKendree Match Games

BELLEVILLE, Ill.- The women's bowling team finished in the match play portion of the McKendree Match Games this past weekend. TWU finished fourth in the tournament held Saturday and Sunday in Belleville, Ill. 

After the first day, the Lady Bulldogs sat in sixth place. A score of 4,418 pins through the five team games gave the team their spot in the team standings. The team scored a team-high 941 in the fifth team game.

Even though the team fell a spot, finishing in seventh, after the completion of the baker games on Sunday, TWU was able to finish in seventh place to advance to the match play round. The Lady Bulldogs added 2,798 pins to their score through the 16 baker games, giving them a total of 7,216 and seventh place. 

In the first round of match play, Tennessee Wesleyan upset the No. 2 team in the standings, Lindenwood University, in the best-of-three match to advance to the semifinals of the round. In the semifinals, the team fell to No. 3 seed SCAD Savannah to finish in the top four of the event. 

On the individual scoreboard, Olivia Rush has the highest finish for the team, finishing in 16th place with 946 pins scored. 

The fall portion of the schedule finishes for Tennessee Wesleyan in December, beginning with the Glenn Carlson Invitational on Dec. 19-20.
