Five Unanswered Goals Propel Men's Soccer to Win in Road Finale

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The men's soccer team played their final road game of the regular season on Saturday. The team scored five unanswered goals in the second half to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game against Columbia International University 5-1. 

The first goal of the game was scored by Columbia International. The opponents put the Bulldogs behind in the 28th minute of the game. TWU went into the halftime break trailing as they were not able to find a goal before the buzzer.

The Bulldogs found five goals in the second half, scoring four goals in ten minutes. David Tayau started the scoring on a Robin Vezinhet assist in the 65th minute. In the 71st minute, Tayau assisted on a goal scored by Nicko Bellot to move the team ahead 2-1. Bellot recorded a brace 51 seconds later, scoring his second goal of the contest off assists by Julien Withrow and Vezinhet. In the 75th minute, Francesco Conti made it four consecutive goals, scoring on Bellot's assist. Cameron Grooms ended the scoring for the Bulldogs, connecting on a Jake Fisher assist in the team's 5-1 victory.

The win moved the team's record to 8-7 overall and 7-4 in the AAC.
