WALESKA, Ga.- Two goals split between the two halves helped the men's soccer team pick up a win on Wednesday. Tennessee Wesleyan went on the road and beat the Reinhardt University Eagles 2-1.
With ten minutes remaining before halftime in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game, the Bulldogs got on the board. A sequence of passes from Jake Fisher and Robin Vezinhet ended up at the feet of Nicko Bellot, who sent a ball flying past the opposing keeper to give the team in the 35th minute.
Two minutes into the second half, another scoring opportunity appeared for TWU. This time, it was a penalty kick that was converted into a goal by Bellot, giving him a brace. With four minutes remaining in the game, Reinhardt scored to cut the lead in half. The defense was able to prevent the Eagles from scoring again, securing the 2-1 win for the Bulldogs.
Kasper Ulfarsson had four saves in the net.
Tennessee Wesleyan (5-5, 4-2 AAC) will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the University of Pikeville in a conference game at the TWU Athletic Complex at 1:00 p.m.
