Men's Soccer Outdueled by Georgia Gwinnett

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.- The men's soccer team went on the road looking for an upset win on Wednesday. Unfortunately, after tying the game, the Bulldogs fell to No. 17 Georgia Gwinnett College 4-1.

Tennessee Wesleyan quickly tied the game after going down 1-0 in the 13th minute. On a corner kick by Jake Fisher in the 14th minute, Sisfiso Ngwenya hit the ricochet off the opposing keeper's punch save and sent it flying into the net. The Bulldogs were not able to carry the momentum though as Georgia Gwinnett scored two more goals before the end of the half to lead 3-1 at the intermission.

Francesco Conti saw hit shot attempt fly wide left of the goal early in the second half. A second opportunity for the Bulldogs was thwarted by the Georgia Gwinnett keeper as Cameron Groom's header shot off a Felipe dos Santos corner kick was saved. The opponents were able to score one more time before the final buzzer.

TWU (4-5) will jump back into conference play on Wednesday when they travel to face Reinhardt University at 7:00 p.m.
