Men's Lacrosse Wins First Ever Meeting Against AAC Opponent Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The men's lacrosse team played an opponent for the first time ever on Saturday. The Bulldogs faced the Columbia College Koalas, a new lacrosse member in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). TWU controlled the entire contest, leaving the first-ever meeting with a 21-3 win.

After a goal exchange, the Bulldogs went on a scoring spree. Reece Ringer scored the first goal of the game and the opponents tied the game two minutes later. As part of seven straight goals, three to end the first quarter, Ringer scored his second of the game to break the tie. Kennedy Moore scored the next goal and Jesse Zeigler gave Tennessee Wesleyan a 4-1 lead to end the first quarter. 

The remaining four goals of the seven-goal spree were scored by the combo of  Ringer and Madden Leslie. Like the beginning of the game, Ringer scored the first goal of the second quarter while Leslie scored the next goal. The pattern repeaed with Ringer scoring first and Leslie second, moving the lead to 8-1 at halftime. 

The opponents scored the first goal of the second half. TWU scored the remaining goals in the quarter. Leslie scored his third goal of the game while Colton Winsick scored the remaining three goals of the third quarter for the Bulldogs, moving the team's lead to 12-2. 

Tennessee Wesleyan finished the game scoring nine goals. Winsick scored the first two of the nine goals while Jack Driscoll scored the third. The final six goals of the game, giving the team their 21-3 win, came from Alexander Glass, Leslie, Winsick, Ringer, and Cole Vance.

Jack Shaw had 11 saves in the net.

The Bulldogs (6-5, 2-3 AAC) stays on the road for their next game when they face No. 1 Keiser University on Thursday, April 8 at 5:00 p.m.
