Peyton Named NAIA All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The 2024 NAIA Baseball All-American Teams were announced by the national office. For the first time ever, three teams were announced by the association. The first and second teams are recognized as ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods. The ABCA began recognizing All-Americans in 1949 and named the first ABCA NAIA All-America team in 1969. The teams are selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches' Association All-America Committee.
The NAIA National Championship Runner-Up baseball team from Tennessee Wesleyan saw one player be named to one of the teams. Blake Peyton was named a member of the All-American Second Team.
During the 2024 season, Peyton appeared in 18 games including eight starts. The pitcher had a 9-1 record on the season, including one complete game. Peyton also had a save during the season. In 87.2 innings pitched this season, Peyton only gave up 21 earned runs and struck out 143 batters. The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Pitcher of the Year and All-AAC First Team member a 2.16 earned-run average (ERA).
Peyton led the NAIA in strikeouts and was ninth in ERA while being tied for second in wins and second in ERA in the AAC.
