LSU Shreveport
Shreveport, La.- The second-ranked baseball team was back in action on Wednesday. The team stayed in Louisiana to face the No. 4 team in the NAIA, the Louisiana State University-Shreveport Pilots.
Tennessee Wesleyan held the first lead of the game. A hit by pitch got Dan Sayre to first base. Sayre was not on base for long as Carson Ford belted a ball over the wall for a two-run home run and a 2-0 lead at the end of the top half of the first inning. The opponents scored a run to cut into the Bulldogs' lead in the bottom of the first inning. In the second inning, LSU-Shreveport took over the lead, scoring three runs to lead 4-2.
Pitching and defense took over from there as a run did not score until the eighth inning. The run went for the Pilots, who went on to win the game 5-2.
The loss moved the team's record to 17-3 overall.
